Oakley Grooming Ltd will not be responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming. There is always a possibility that an accident could occur during grooming, including but not limited to cuts, scratches, grazes, nicks and quicking of nails. Oakley Grooming Ltd will provide upmost care and caution, however due to sharp equipment and the varied behaviour of animals, incidents may occur, and we may decide to alter/halt grooming if deemed unsafe. Normal Condition:
It is expected that you will bring your dog into the salon in ‘normal condition’. That is; that you groom your dog at home (right down to the skin) regularly between appointments, and that it you will present your dog at the salon in an unmatted and dry state. Any condition other than "normal" will most probably take longer to deal with and will therefore incur additional charges. Our prices are based on dogs coming in on an 8-week interval or less, anything over 8 weeks may be charged additional fees based on the additional work required, such as extended washing time, drying time and de-matting if required.

Deposits:
Oakley Grooming Ltd requests deposits for bookings. This can be of varying amounts up to 50% of the expected cost of the groom. Payment is required at the time of booking and if payment is not received within 48 hours, the appointment will be cancelled.

Payment:
Oakley Grooming accepts cash and card payment at drop off or upon collection of your pet. All fees must be settled at the end of treatment. If Bank Transfer has been agreed this needs to be cleared prior to the appointment. All prices provided are an estimate and final costs will be calculated on the day, additional charges may be incurred if pets require additional handling, staff, or time to complete the groom.

Missed & Cancelled appointment:
We respectfully request 48-hour notice if you need to cancel your pet’s appointment. Late cancellations will incur a charge of up to 50% if under the notice period and missed appointments will require full payment of the original appointment paying before a new appointment is made. Any pre-booked appointments will be cancelled if payment isn’t received. Regular missed appointments will require full payment up-front to secure a new appointment. Cancellation costs are at the discretion of the groomer.

Alterations:
Please check your pets groom at pick-up and let the staff know of any changes you would like. All grooms should be checked at collection to allow the team to rectify issues and make notes for future grooms. If you are dissatisfied or require alterations to your pets’ groom, please inform us within 48 hours. Any changes after this time frame may require a rewash and will be chargeable.

Matted Dogs:
In the event of any dog needing a shave down/clip off, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process, as well as uncovering nicks, cuts, or other potential problems.
The owner agrees that Oakley Grooming Ltd and/or its staff will not be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered by clipping off a badly matted, neglected coat. This could include, but is not limited to the following: itchiness, skin redness, irritations or abrasions however caused, aural haematomas, post groom furunculosis, pyoderma - superficial or deep and/or pyotraumatic dermatitis.

No dog will be subjected to stress or discomfort and all dogs will be groomed in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. A shave-down can incur extra fees. We photograph and/or video every case of neglect brought into the salon for grooming, and we may also save a sample of fur. We reserve the right to use these items as we deem appropriate.

Dangerous Dogs:
The owner (or other responsible person) agrees to inform Oakley Grooming Ltd prior to booking and grooming if the dog has bitten or has aggressive tendencies.
Oakley Grooming Ltd reserves the right to muzzle your dog, ask you to muzzle your own dog, or refuse to groom your dog if it represents a danger to our staff or other dogs in the salon. Unless this has been discussed and agreed beforehand, we reserve the right to turn your dog away without grooming them, however the full starting price for your groom will still be charged.

Toileting:
Please ensure your dog has had an adequate chance to relieve itself before you come to the salon. We do not have the time or the facilities to do this for you. If your dog defecates or urinates during the grooming process and/or requires a second bath you will be charged appropriately. Please bag up your dog's mess and put it in the bin if your dog has an accident outside the salon.

Anal Glands:
As a team we are trained in external expression of anal glands, however this service should only be done if you vet has stated your pet requires a regular expression and must be requested at drop off at each appointment. It is not a routine service that can be added onto every groom.

Teeth Cleaning:
We use our Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic Toothbrush, it is an additional service that can be added to grooms or as a stand-alone service. This is not a scale and polish that would be provided by the Vets, it is a slow and gentle service that over time reduces plaque and whitens teeth. We are not able to provide this service if the plaque if affecting the gums and/or any teeth are wobbling. Each dog will be assessed individually and can be refused teeth cleaning at any point. It is not a substitute to veterinary treatment, please note the operator is not a veterinarian. Owners should be aware that the removal of plaque and tartar can reveal conditions that could not be seen prior to removal and may require veterinary attention. Oakley Grooming Ltd will not be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic sessions. Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic sessions is not a veterinary procedure and Oakley Grooming Ltd and/or its staff cannot diagnose any problems with your dog’s oral hygiene.

Day-care:
Although we would love to be able to, we do not have the space to provide a dog day-care service. If you cannot collect your dog at the agreed time or within 60 minutes of your pets appointment ending, we will charge £10 per hour or part thereof for dog sitting for you. Any collection after closing will be charged at a £1 per minute per staff member. Please contact the salon if you require early/late collection.

Photographs:
Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on the Oakley Grooming Ltd website and/or social media sites. Please inform us if you wish your pet not to be photographed.
